How to make the yummiest porridge (I promise its good!)
I get a lot of clients say to me all the time they don’t like porridge. Porridge can be for some people one of the best ways to start the day 🙂 It keeps you filled up till lunchtime, and what is even better is all the GOOD ingredients you can add to it.
So how do you make the best porridge I hear you say…….You soak a bowl full of Oats or GF oats over night in either water or Almond milk.
Makes such a big difference the next day when you make your porridge, its all creamy and delicious.
My favourite things to add is chopped banana, some berries, and a handful of mixed organic nuts and seeds.
I generally add
1 handful of mixed nuts
1 handful of mixed seeds, Flaxseed, chia seed, pumpkin seed,and sesame seeds.
1 chopped banana
1 handful of berries all chopped up
Its just delicious 😉
Benefits of eating porridge daily are:-
Oats contain some unique components — in particular, the soluble fiber beta-glucan and antioxidants called avenanthramides. Benefits include lower blood sugar and cholesterol levels, protection against skin irritation and reduced constipation.
Adding nuts and seeds to your porridge will add – exact nutrient compositions vary, nuts and seeds are rich sources of heart-healthy fats, fiber, plant protein, essential vitamins and minerals, and other bioactive compounds, including an array of phytochemicals that appear to have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
And adding fruit will add a whole host of vitamins and bioflavanoids.
